Analysing An Album Cover- Chris Brown

The album cover I have chosen to analyse is Chris Brown.
The reason why I have chosen Chris Brown to identify on an album cover is because I am a very big fan of him, not only did I just choose him because of that, but because I like how he had came out with an album from a young age of 16 and entitled the album by his forename itself, Chris Brown. I like how he had came up with the idea to keep the album cover simple, but with a hint of urban effect, by using a graffiti font in bold writing to make the name of the album cover stand out. It also shows how he's only just beginning in his music career and even has a picture of himself to clarify the artist that he is.

I have chosen his newly music album cover Fortune which was produced and released in 2012. You can tell from this album cover how he has grown from such a young teenager to a young adult, and how completely different and intriguing his newer album cover looks from the one he originally made when he was 16. The background and detail of this album cover shows the technique and style that Chris Brown has used to create this album and also the font and sizing is smaller, but yet readable. Secondly, the color and the whole image to this album really brings a presentable and very imaginative effect to the album cover which really shows the stylish yet unique album effect.

Rita Ora featuring DJ Fresh- Hot Right Now (Example For The POP Genre.

I have also selected another music video which is featured by Rita Ora featuring DJ Fresh Hot Right Now shows another example to the Pop genre. This music video really features and shows, young adults from 16 to 19 impressing and battling different dance moves against each other. This video really brings a special tone and effect and especially has a really upbeat soundtrack was really pumps up the vibe to when listening to this song. I like where the setting of the video was made, which shows you can dance and show of your moves practically anywhere! It is a really good choice and a really detailed and interesting video to watch. The target audience would be shown for young teenagers/adults. The reason why I think this, is because the video itself gives an example to young teenagers/adults that like to show of talent for example singing and dancing/competing.

Analysing Print Media (Beyonce Article)

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-2187333/Beyonce-opens-intimate-family-album-Blue-Ivy-wearing-Jay-Zs-Watch-The-Throne-tour-T-shirt.html

How is the company, product or service depicted?

It shows in this article that an Artist (singer) who has been out for years, has now had a baby girl and shows that she can have a good time with her friends and her sister, and also represents a lot of support to her husband who is also an Artist (rapper).

How do the images relate to the copy?

It relates in many ways, as you can see in the article Beyonce's baby daughter Blue Ivy, is wearing a 'Watch The Throne t-shirt' which is her father's tour name and so it shows that Beyonce and their daughter are giving Jay Z some huge support and closure to his music and to him.

How did the headline catch your attention?

It caught my attention, because it was a huge shock that Beyonce had a child, because she's such a BIG artist throughout the years, It was just a big shock to see her settle down and have family time with her daughter.

Does the message focus on the emotional experience or does it focus on specific attributes?

Yes it definitely does focus a lot more on the person's attributes and shows you what kind of relationship and lifestyle the artist has been through.

Analysing The 3 music videos

These three chosen music videos show and present a relatable image to POP music.

The first music video that I have discovered was the song title of Conor Maynard featuring Ne-YO- Turn Around which shows that there was a feature with two different artists and it also shows that the detail and style of the music video itself. In the music video, it describes how it was based on a street at night where he meets this girl and soon falls in love and uses a telophatic elevator which lifts up in the sky. The description of this video has a very different and unusual vision to the video which makes it look more cooler and intriguing to watch. The target audience is viewed for all ages and is not in any way an inappropriate video.

The second music video that I selected is Chris Brown- Turn Up The Music. The reason why I also chose this music video for the POP genre was because I liked the style and the way the music video was set. I liked the way how it was based in a warehouse and how the flashing lights and dances formed the video. The video is also targeted for all ages of this video, but it's not inappropriate and the context of this video shows how different, fun and amazing it is to watch.

Lastly, the final music video that I have selected for the genre is Rihanna- Where Have You Been. The reason why I have chosen this particular soundtrack was because I liked how the video was set and the detail and style of the video. It also shows a lot of excitement and fun which makes the music video more interesting and enjoyable to watch and most importantly it is also not an inappropriate video and it's  is targeted for all ages between 13+.

My Introduction

Introduction

My task this year for my Year 11 coursework will be referring to a music video, radio interview and a CD Cover/album. Also my plan for my task will be making sure to produce a music video that matches to the soundtrack of the song and also a album cover that will be suitable and presentable to use for my presentation.

Furthermore, our group
(myself; Cherise,Yuvraj and Sandeep) will be producing and making a music video and radio interview which will feature in our presentation. I will be researching three different types of music videos which I will be explaining and identifying for the chosen genre to the music.

I will be presenting the genre of music which is POP!
The reason why I have chosen this genre of music is because, I like the style, balance and detail of their music and the bass and sound they use to create this genre.

The three music videos that I'm planning on showing which is a form of pop will be:

- Chris Brown- Turn Up The Music
- Conor Maynard featuring Ne-YO- Turn Around
- Rihanna- Where Have You Been

Also the celebrity that I will be using to show an idea to a radio interview will be Chris Brown who is a very popular and worldwide singer, rapper, dancer and actor and also the album cover I will use to produce an example will also be Chris Brown.

POP (genre) definition of what it means:

Pop is a genre; pop music is very eclectic, often borrowing elements from other styles including urban, dance, rock, Latin and country. Nonetheless, there are core elements which define pop.

It also can be called ‘pure pop’ music, such as power pop, which features all these elements, which include electric guitars, drums and bass for instrumentation. Pop music is generally thought of as a genre which is commercially recorded and desires to have a mass audience appeal.
